Formula and worked examples

Physical cores equal hosts times CPUs per host times cores per CPU. Billable cores use the greater of actual cores per CPU or the selected planning minimum, calculated independently for every host group. A three-host, two-CPU, 12-core environment has 72 physical cores and 96 billable cores under a 16-core planning minimum. A 20-host, two-CPU, 32-core environment has 1,280 physical and billable cores.
